Welcome to Yoga Clan - a teacher-first online platform that connects yoga instructors and students across the world.

At Yoga Clan, we are committed to protecting your privacy, respecting your personal data, and ensuring transparency in how we collect, use, and store information.

This Privacy Policy explains how Yoga Clan Private Limited (“Yoga Clan”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your personal data when you use our website, mobile app, or related services.

By using Yoga Clan, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that helps us provide, improve, and personalize your experience. The types of data we collect include:

F. KYC & Payout Verification Data (Teachers & Institutions only)

To operate our centralized payment routing and to enable payouts to Teachers, Yoga Clan collects limited KYC and payout onboarding data for Teachers and Institutions.

This may include:

• Identity & verification metadata: Aadhaar (for individuals), PAN, verification tokens or response codes returned by government KYC APIs;
• Bank details for payouts: account holder name, account number, IFSC, bank name (used to create routed vendor/payout channels);
• Business verification documents (where applicable): Company PAN, incorporation certificate, GST/Udyam/trade license, partnership deed/board resolution, trust deed or registration certificate, authorised signatory ID proof;
• Payout channel identifiers and transaction metadata: vendor/payout channel ID, Razorpay order IDs, settlement references, amounts, timestamps, refund flags, course IDs.

Yoga Clan collects and stores only the minimum metadata necessary to provision vendor/payout channels, reconcile settlements, comply with tax and anti-fraud obligations, and investigate disputes. Yoga Clan does not hold or use payment instrument credentials (e.g., full card numbers, CVV, UPI credentials).

3. How We Use Your Information

Yoga Clan uses your information to deliver a smooth, authentic, and secure experience. We use the data to:

• Provide and manage services – Create user accounts, process bookings, facilitate payments, and deliver classes.
• Improve platform performance – Analyze usage data to refine features, enhance user experience, and fix issues.
• Personalize experiences – Recommend teachers, classes, or learning paths that match your interests.
• Process payments, KYC verification and payout routing — create routed vendor/payout channels for Teachers via our payment processor (Razorpay); submit KYC verification requests via government APIs or authorized provider endpoints; route net settlements (after platform commissions and fees) to Teachers’ bank accounts; and perform reconciliation, refunds, and dispute resolution using transaction metadata. Yoga Clan does not store full card or instrument details.
• Enable communication – Between teachers and students via in-app or email.
  Ensure safety and compliance – Detect and prevent fraud, misuse, or policy violations.
• Send updates and offers – With your consent, we may send newsletters or community updates (you can opt out anytime).

4. Payment, KYC & Refund Data (Centralized Routing Model)

4.1 Centralized collection and routing

Yoga Clan uses Razorpay as its payment processor. All student payments for classes, courses, drop-ins and subscriptions are collected into Yoga Clan’s Razorpay account and routed to Teachers using Razorpay’s routing/vendor channel features. Yoga Clan provides a vendor/payout channel for each Teacher after successful KYC verification so that routed settlements may be credited to the Teacher’s nominated bank account.

4.2 KYC onboarding (what we require & how it is verified)

KYC and onboarding differ by Teacher type:

• Individual Teachers: Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account details.
• Sole proprietorships: Proprietor ID/address proof (Aadhaar), GST/Udyam/Trade License (if applicable), bank proof.
• Partnership / Pvt Ltd / LLP: Incorporation certificate, partnership deed/board resolution, company PAN, company address proof, directors’ KYC, bank proof.
• Trust / Society / NGO: Trust deed/registration certificate, company PAN, authorised signatory KYC, bank proof.

By submitting documents, Teachers authorize Yoga Clan to perform KYC verification using government-provided KYC APIs and/or authorized payment-processor verification endpoints. Yoga Clan will store only the minimum permitted verification metadata (for example verification tokens, KYC status, timestamps and vendor/payout channel IDs) required for onboarding, settlement and compliance. Yoga Clan does not retain original sensitive KYC documents beyond what is required by applicable law or the payment processor’s terms.

4.3 What Yoga Clan stores (summary)

• Bank account details and payout channel identifiers (account name, account number, IFSC, vendor/payout channel ID).
• Transaction and settlement metadata (order IDs, settlement refs, amounts, timestamps, refund flags, course IDs).
• KYC verification metadata (status, token, verification date).

Yoga Clan does not store payment instrument credentials (card numbers, CVV, or UPI credentials).

4.4 Refunds, reversals & chargebacks

Refunds must be requested via the Platform. Yoga Clan processes refunds through Razorpay in accordance with Teacher refund policies, platform rules and applicable law. Where refunds or chargebacks affect previously routed settlements, Yoga Clan may withhold, delay, or reverse payouts in order to reconcile accounts. Refund timing follows Razorpay and banking timelines (typically 7–10 business days). Gateway fees and taxes may be deducted from refunded amounts where applicable.

4.5 Liability and settlement timing

Although Yoga Clan initiates routing, actual settlement to a Teacher’s bank account is subject to Razorpay’s settlement schedule and banking processes. Yoga Clan is not liable for delays or holds imposed by Razorpay, banks, or regulators.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Yoga Clan uses cookies and similar technologies to:

• Improve website and app performance,
• Remember your login preferences,
• Measure analytics for improvement, and
• Deliver personalized experiences.

You can manage or delete cookies from your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may limit some features.

6. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We respect your privacy - Yoga Clan never sells, rents, or trades personal data.

We may share limited data only with:

• Payment processors – To securely handle transactions.
• Cloud service providers – To store data safely.
• Analytics & communication tools – To enhance performance and support.
• Legal authorities – Only when required by law or court order.
• Razorpay and authorized payment processors — to create vendor/payout channels, provision settlements, process refunds and investigate disputes (shared data limited to KYC metadata, bank details and transaction metadata; Yoga Clan does not share full payment instrument credentials).
• Government KYC verification APIs / authorized KYC service providers — to perform identity verification for Teacher onboarding. Yoga Clan shares only the information necessary for verification and receives verification tokens or status in return.

All third-party partners are contractually required to protect data to standards commensurate with Yoga Clan’s policies and applicable law.

7. User Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the following rights:

• Access – Request a copy of your data held by us.
• Correction – Ask us to update or correct inaccurate information.
• Withdrawal of Consent – Opt out of emails or data processing activities (where applicable).
• Deletion (“Right to be Forgotten”) – Request account deletion and data removal, subject to retention laws.

8. Data Security

Your trust is sacred. Yoga Clan employs industry-standard security practices, including:

• Data encryption (in transit and at rest)
• Role-based access controls for employees
• Regular system audits and vulnerability checks
• Secure cloud infrastructure compliant with Indian IT and DPDP regulations

While we take all reasonable precautions, no system is 100% secure. Users are encouraged to protect their login credentials and notify us immediately of any suspected breach.

KYC verification metadata, bank details and payout channel identifiers are encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to authorized personnel and third-party processors with a business need to operate payouts or perform compliance checks. Where government APIs or payment processors return verification artifacts, Yoga Clan will store only the minimum data required and will apply strict access controls consistent with DPDP and RBI guidance.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

KYC verification metadata, bank details and settlement records will be retained for regulatory, tax and audit purposes (which may be up to seven (7) years), or longer where required by law. Requests to delete data that would conflict with legal retention obligations or ongoing payout/ dispute resolution obligations may be declined until obligations are satisfied.

10. International Data Transfers

If you are accessing Yoga Clan from outside India (e.g., USA, UK, or Europe), your data may be transferred and processed in India.

Yoga Clan ensures that such transfers comply with international data protection principles and maintain adequate safeguards under GDPR standards.

11. Children’s Privacy

Yoga Clan’s services are intended for users aged 18 years and above.

Users under 18 may participate only with parental or guardian consent.
We do not knowingly collect or store personal data from minors.

If a parent or guardian believes a child has shared information, they may contact us to request deletion.

12. Third-Party Links & Integrations

Yoga Clan may include links to external websites or integrated tools (e.g., payment gateways or video platforms).
We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices or content.
We encourage you to review their policies before engaging.

13. Community Conduct & Content

Yoga Clan is built on respect, authenticity, and mindfulness.

When engaging in reviews, chats, or community spaces:

• Avoid sharing personal or sensitive information publicly.
• Maintain respect and refrain from uploading offensive or illegal content.
• Yoga Clan may moderate or remove content that violates its User Conduct & Community Guidelines.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes.

• The latest version will always be available on our website.
• Material updates will be communicated via email or platform notifications.
